How to prepare for your visit

DexaFit Body Scan

  1. Fast for at least 2 hours before scan.

  2. Limit activity before scan (no exercise).

  3. Be hydrated

  4. Avoid taking any calcium supplements in the 24 hours before the scan.

  5. Make sure there is no metal on your clothing.

  6. You will be asked to empty your pockets and remove significant amounts of metal (watch, belt, glasses, jewelry, etc.)

  7. No gastrointestinal contrast, barium or other contrast medium, or radionuclides within 48 hours of your appointment.

  8. Wear a wireless bra (if applicable)

VO2 Max Fitness Test

  1. Fast for a minimum of 3 hours before your test (water is fine). 

  2. Limit your activity before your visit (no exercise).

  3. Refrain from taking any caffeine or stimulants the day of your test.

  4. Wear workout clothes and athletic shoes (the test is done on a treadmill).

RMR Metabolism Test

  1. Fast for a minimum of 5 hours before your test (water is fine). 

  2. Limit your activity beforehand (no exercise).

  3. Refrain from taking any caffeine or stimulants the day of your test and avoid alcohol within 12 hours of it.

  4. Wear comfortable clothing.
